![]() "The writer guy?", Carter asked, unfazed by the Cthulhu vinyl figure on the counter. He half expected the bookstore to be closed or abandoned, but on the contrary it's up and running in the capable hand of a Ms Lovecraft. Nevertheless, he is a curious man, and the fact that he inherited said bookstore from a guy he never met is kinda bugging him. Also, he was a cop, at least before his partner decided to kill himself for no apparent reason with a bullet in the mouth. He is not a cultured man: back in the day he used to read hard-boiled stories or a Raymond Chandler now and then but that's all. ![]() Dan Carter is a private investigator who suddenly inherited a book store in Providence. ![]() ![]() If at least one of you guys will end up buying Carter & Lovecraft or talk about it to friends who might be interested than it was worth the effort. The guy is an excellent writer, his stories are always witty and never fail to put a smile on my face. I wanted to show the author my support and that's exactly the reason I am writing this review now. When the author talked about it on Twitter I immediately purchased both books and the rest of the Johannes Cabal series. There are many reasons why I decided I needed to review this book and I do hope r/fantasy will bear with me for a couple of minutes and read this short love letter to one of my favourite writers.įirst of all, as far as I know, Carter & Lovecraft is not a successful series. ![]()
